Frequently Asked Questions

How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the challenges you’re facing. Some people notice positive changes in just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term work over weeks or months. Therapy is a process, and “feeling better” can mean different things—sometimes it’s learning new coping skills, gaining clarity, or improving relationships.
How much do you charge?
My out-of-pocket fee is $120 per 60-minute session. If you have out-of-network insurance benefits, I can provide a detailed statement (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-network mental health benefits and reimbursement rates.
What insurance networks do you accept?
I accept a variety of insurance plans and also offer self-pay sessions for clients who prefer to pay out of pocket. to help make therapy accessible. Coverage may vary by plan and location, so it’s always best to verify benefits with your insurance provider
If I am not in-network with your insurance, I can provide a superbill that you may submit for potential reimbursement. Please reach out to verify your specific coverage and benefits.
What is Accelerated Resolution Training (ART) ?
ART is a brief, evidence-based therapy that helps reduce emotional distress related to trauma, anxiety, and other overwhelming experiences. Using gentle eye movements, ART allows the brain to safely reprocess difficult memories so they no longer feel emotionally charged in the present. You remain fully aware and in control, and the process does not require detailed retelling of painful events. Many clients find ART effective, calming, and empowering.
Is ART similar to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)?
ART and EMDR both use eye movements to help the brain process distressing experiences. However, ART is often experienced as more structured and gentle, with less emphasis on repeatedly revisiting traumatic memories. Many clients find ART feels contained, efficient, and emotionally manageable.
Do I have to relive or talk in detail about my trauma?
No. ART does not require you to share graphic details or repeatedly relive painful experiences. You stay in control of what you choose to share, and the focus is on how your body and mind respond rather than retelling the story.
